The Center 1 of 4

The Center’s original building is a two-car garage that was remodeled in 1993 into a 1,500 sq. ft. building with a meeting room, community kitchen, and office space, and cubicle area for tutoring.  In 2000, board members and staff determined that a significant addition needed to be constructed in order to accommodate the growing number of Center participants.  Nearly 90 people volunteered with the Educational Construction Project and over 100 local people were employed in the construction of the building resulting in the 7,000 square foot, used tire and earth building which took two years to construct.
