Summer 2015 Class Schedule

Summer is a great time to spend at WInC. Classes start on May 26 through August 27, 2015.

There is a one time class registration fee of $5.  Cost per class varies.


Arts and Crafts - Instructor Maria Rodriguez, Fridays from 10am-12pm – Learn how to make arts and crafts from recycled items and more. Cost per class is $2.


Community Plaza, Instructor Olga Hernandez, Fridays 9am-12pm – The program consists of three levels of progression which teach the Spanish speaking adults to read, write and speak in their native tongue to complete their first and secondary education. At the completion of this program the student will receive a diploma from the Secretary of Public Education from Mexico. The goal is to transition the student into a higher level of education. Cost per class is a canned good donation.


Crochet – Instructor Esther Ortega, Thursdays from 12-3pm - Learn to crochet whether it is to design clothing or other projects. Cost per class is $2 dollars.


Judo – Instructor Joe Terrazas, Mondays from 4:30pm- 5:30pm – The classes are for children 5yrs – 12yrs old. Your child will learn spectacular throwing techniques and ground grappling utilizing specialized pins and control holds; self control and discipline. He/she will also be able to compete in martial arts competitions. There is no cost for the class other than the registration fee.


Mexico Lindo – Instructor Olga Hernandez, Thursdays from 10am-12pm – Explore your roots while you learn about Mexican history and cultural traditions.


Oil Painting – Instructor Alma Ramirez, Wednesdays from 9:30am-12pm – Gain the confidence to be a painter! From the beginning to the experienced student, this class in oil or acrylic will guide and teach students how to approach the painting process with confidence, while exploring the basics of value-pattern, composition and color. Students may work from life and/or photos. Instructor demonstrations and lots of individual attention provided. Cost per class is $4 dollars.


Reiki Level I – Instructor Conchita Candelas, Wednesdays from 10am-12pm – Learn how to use the energy of Reiki to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation or massage. Cost per class is $2.


Reiki Level II – Instructor Conchita Candelas, Wednesdays from 1-3pm – This advanced class will teach you a holistic (whole) system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of a person (body, mind, emotions and spirit). Must have taken Level I or gained the instructor’s approval to enroll in Level II. Cost per class is $2.


Spanish Citizenship – Instructor Olivia Contreras, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-12pm – The class prepares you to take and pass the citizenship exam. These classes are designed for Spanish Speakers ages 50 and up who have resided in the U.S. 15years or more. You will learn the civics information to help you pass the Citizenship exam. Cost per class is $2.


Spanish Reading Workshop – Instructor Elvira Silva, Tuesdays from 12pm-1pm – Read and discuss Spanish literature. Cost per class is a canned good donation.


Zumba, Instructors Blanca Garcia and Aurora Borunda – Be healthy and in shape with our Zumba Classes. Morning classes are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-10am led by Blanca Garcia. Evening Classes are Mondays through Thursday from 6pm to 7pm the classes are led by Blanca Garcia and Aurora M. Borunda who each give it on alternate days. Cost per class is $2 dollars.
