Basic Art Class – Instructor Socorro Maria Linden, Friday from 10am-12pm. This class will teach you the following art principles: Primary/Secondary colors, color blending exercises/practice, art composition, b asic understanding of art appreciation, and by the end of the classes you will be able to create a take home art piece. Cost per class is $4.

 

Belly Dance– Instructor Prabvi GuaLoa, Tuesdays from 6-7pm. Learn Belly Dance basics, fusion technique, isolation drills, combinations & transitions to seamlessly flow into each movement. Cost per class is $4. This class is ongoing.

 

Conversational English – Instructor Annette Maldonado, Tuesdays and Fridays 10am-12pm. Learn how to effectively communicate in English and improve your conversational language skills. Cost per class is $2.

 

Couples Cumbia Dance Class – Instructors Armando & Nancy Rodriguez,  Wednesdays from 7-8pm. Absolute Beginner and Two left feet welcome. There are no pre-requisites. This is an introduction class for the absolute beginner. You need not know anything about Cumbia dancing. Cost per class is $5/per person.

 

English Citizenship – Instructor Guadalupe Romero, Thursdays from 1-3pm. The class prepares you to take and pass the citizenship exam. You will learn the civics information to help you pass the Citizenship exam. Cost per class is $2.

 

Finding Your Soul Mate – Instructor Guadalupe Romero, Thursdays from 12-1pm. In your quest for love, don't lose yourself along the way. While navigating through the dating scene, every woman begins to wonder: How do I know when a guy really loves me? Am I being too picky? Do I even deserve love? Is my relationship worth keeping? Is love worth the risk? Are any decent guys left? Single women often feel left alone to find answers to their deep questions about love and intimacy. Some hang out and hook up, hoping for love. Others are afraid even to hope. At some point, every woman needs reassurance that she and her standards are not the problem. In How to Find Your Soulmate, you'll discover twenty-one strategies to help you raise the bar, instead of sitting at it, waiting around for Mr. Wonderful. Cost per class is $2.

 

Guitar – Instructor Alden legge, Thursdays from 5:30-7pm. This guitar class will teach you how to play the guitar and how to read music. Cost per class is $2.

 

Natya Yoga – Instructor Prabvi GuaLoa, Tuesdays from 5-6pm. Explore the Fundamentals of Classical Indian Dance, known for its graceful expressions, percussive footwork & sculpturesque poses. Cost per class is $4.

 

Oil Painting – Instructor Alma Ramirez, Wednesdays from 9:30am-12:30pm. Gain the confidence to be a painter! From the beginning to the experienced student, this class in oil or acrylic will guide and teach students how to approach the painting process with confidence, while exploring the basics of value-pattern, composition and color. Students may work from life and/or photos. Instructor demonstrations and lots of individual attention provided. Cost per class is $4.

 

Reiki I – Instructor Maria Baeza, Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. This beginners class will teach you the holistic (whole) system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of a person (body, mind, emotions and spirit). Cost per class is $2.

 

Reiki II – Instructor Maria Baeza, Wednesdays from 1-3pm. This advanced class will teach you a higher level of holistic (whole) system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of a person (body, mind, emotions and spirit). Must have taken Level I to enroll in this class. Cost per class is $2.

 

Spanish Citizenship – Instructor Olivia Contreras, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. The class prepares you to take and pass the citizenship exam. These classes are designed for Spanish Speakers ages 50 and up who have resided in the U.S. 15 years or more. You will learn the civics information to help you pass the Citizenship exam. Cost per class is $2.

 

Tai Chi – Instructor Carlos Perales, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm. Tai Chi is a martial art classified as an aerobic exercise as the movements create cardiovascular benefits. However, unlike most aerobic exercise, Tai Chi is done slowly and with low impact – but don’t be surprised at the amount of heat your body generates while performing this “gentle” exercise. Cost per class is $2.

 

Yoga – Instructor Lisa Peña, Fridays from 9am-10am. The class will be done at a gentle pace in order to learn the foundational poses of yoga – opening, standing, shoulder and hip exercises, inversions, twists, backwards and forward bends, salutations, and finishing poses. Students will learn about the principles of alignment and how to flow into the pose using breathing techniques. Complete relaxation and breathing techniques will be practiced. Thisclass will teach how to prepare for yoga, what to expect, and how to take your practice into daily life. Cost per class is $2.

 

Zumba, Instructor Blanca Garcia, Monday through Wednesdays from 9-10am. Be healthy and in shape with our Zumba Classes. Cost per class is $2 dollars.
