Affiliated Partners and Programs
The Sisters of Mercy is the religious order that helped found the Women's Intercultural Center by providing organizational leadership and funding for the Center's construction. The Order is dedicated to serving the marginalized, particularly poor women. The Center's first co-directors were Sisters of Mercy Kathleen Erickson and Camilla Verret, from the Omaha Regional Community  http://www.mercyoma.org/oregon.htm. The Sisters of Mercy maintain close ties with the Center.  Martina Filerio, a Mercy Associate of the Omaha Regional Community, is currently a staff member of the Center.

In the past, the Center has been privileged to host volunteers from  Mercy Volunteer Corps. The volunteers make a one-year commitment, serving as full-time staff and living at the Center. Past volunteer projects have included English as a Second Language (ESL), art, and  yoga,  instruction among other assignments.

Agencies in the Region that Work with Migrants
The halfway home, Annunciation House, provides hospitality and shelter to undocumented migrants and refugees. Between El Paso and Juarez, Annunciation House maintains four centers for individuals in transition.

The Catholic Diocese of El Paso supports the Diocesan Migrant & Refugee Services, a legal clinic dedicated to representing low-income individuals seeking citizenship, legal permanent residence, refugee status, and asylum.

Las Americas is a nonprofit organization in El Paso, TX that represents individuals seeking asylum in the United States; in particular, the organization is concerned with family reunification and the rights of migrant women.

The United States Citizenship & Immigration Services is the government agency charged with protecting American borders, processing immigration requests, and performing customs inspections.

Information about Anthony & the Mesilla Valley
Anthony , NM /TX claims to be the "best little town in two States". Southern New Mexico Travel, a website offering information about New Mexican cities at the border, offers trivia, legends, and myths about Anthony and the Mesilla Valley.

Mesilla Valley Net is an excellent source for information about local attractions, artisans, and events.

In her article, "The Same River Twice", seasoned traveler Annie Feighery provides a personal narrative of her drive South along the Rio Grande, including a passage about her travels through Anthony.
